students celebrated Earth Day with much enthusiasm! We learned about sorting
recyclable materials, how to keep the planet healthy and how the Earth and
nature are traces of God. The students recognized mankind's great responsibility
to care for the Earth and celebrated each time they performed a good deed for
We practiced a beautiful song about our planet,
entitled "C'est ma terre" by Christophe Maé. The students successfully learned the lyrics to the chorus as well as some dance moves to show how we can sing and move in relation to rhythm. I was SO impressed by their French language skills it nearly moved me to tears!!!
The students discovered and explored the
differences between 2 dimensional shapes and 3 dimensional objects. We built 3D globes out of paper maché to demonstrate how spheres look and feel as compared to circles. We also explored 2D and 3D shapes related to daily life by creating 2D and 3D flowers. The students created a lovely garden of flowers!
We continued to explore pale and dark shades of colours and discovered the letter Rr.
In the coming week, we will focus on spring as a season and symbol for new life and growth.
Bonne semaine à tous!
