After completion, the students played with their towns, sharing experiences, problem solving and developing language skills.
The students also went out at recess to collect data about other students' favourite mode of transportation. With clipboard and pencil in hand, the kindergarteners went up to staff members and fellow students to ask them which of the 3 proposed vehicles they prefered. The students would then record the data on a chart. This was a fun experience that taught math while fostering a sense of community in the kindergarteners.
Being the month of May, we have also focused on St. Mary. The students explored the rosary, building rosary hangers, practicing the hail
mary, building rosaries, performing self-prayer in nature and discussing their love of St. Mary.
This week, we will begin a two-week unit
about Friendly Monsters. We will explore themes such as similarities and differences, acceptance of others, shapes, 2D and 3D, colours and early reading strategies.
See you tomorrow!
